SRS Airbag Module Reset DTC Codes

If your airbag light is on due to DTC codes being stored, we can help! DTC stands for Data Trouble Code and is something that is stored in the airbag control module when there is a system fault. Anything from a bad wire, sensor to an accident such as a crash or collision can trigger these codes. Most DTC codes can be accessed in the SRS airbag module via OBD using and Airbag Scan Tool or scanner such as the Autel or Snap-On. Once the codes are retrieved, you will need to fix the issue in most cases by simply replacing the device and then clearing the codes. However in more serious situations such as a crash, there will be crash data stored due to airbag deployment and crash sensors being activted. Such event would most likely trigger the system to lock seat belt pretensioners up and you will need to repair them.
