Salvage Car Seat Belt Repair Replacement

If you have a salvage car and are looking for a seat belt repair or replacement due to your airbag light being on and seat belts locking up, this is a service for you. Seat belts lock up in a crash as they have a gas charge explosive that goes off and jams the seat belt mechanism. Once this occurs, a seat belt will no longer work properly and certainly won’t work in another crash. This is very common in salvage cars and vehicles after accident. Here at Safety Restore we specialize in seat belt repairs after accident and can fix your seat belt!

Salvage Car Rebuilders

If you work with salvage cars by buying crashed cars at auctions such as Copart and IAAI, you can save hundreds to thousands with us. Instead of buying replacement seat belts at the dealer or used seat belts at salvage yards and him yards, you can reuse your existing seat belts and save! Used car dealerships can also save by repairing their seat belts with us for their salvage cars.

Seat Belt Retractors & Pretensioners

We can repair both the seat belt retractors and pretensioners. A seat belt retractor is the main seat belt assembly where the webbing feeds from. Also know as the seat belt reel, spool or male. Made up with a coil spring, mechanical gears and a gas charge explosive, the seat belt retractor is the most common of all seat belts we repair. The seat belt pretensioner on the other hand, also known as the buckle pretensioner, is the female part and may also be equipped with a gas charge connector in some car models. To know if your buckle pretensioner has a gas charge and gas blown, you can look at the accordion housing and if it is compressed. If there is no such look present, your buckle is not needed to be repaired. This is how the seat belt retractor and pretensioner looks like:

Single Stage & Dual Stage Seat Belts

The most common seat belts we repair are single stage and dual stage seat belts. The difference between the 2 are the amount of gas charges present in the assembly, easily identified by the amount of wire plug connectors. A seat belt with 1 wire plug connector is a single stage and a seat belt with 2 wire plug connectors, is a dual stage. Difference shown below:
