West Springfield is a small town in western Massachusetts. Even though it is small, it brings in quite the crowd in an annual event that it holds—the Big E, otherwise known as The Eastern States Exposition. Some of the foods that we come back for every time are the maple syrup cotton candy, baked potato from the Maine state-building, garlic buttered corn on the cob, smoked turkey leg, and hot apple cider. If we see something new and delicious, we almost always stop and buy that too. We also love touring the Farm-a-Rama building and petting all of the animals, visiting the circus, sliding down the giant yellow slide, and exploring the different things being sold in the Young building.

Whether you live in the area or are planning on traveling a distance to get to The Big E, it is likely that you will be stuck in some traffic, especially if you choose to visit on the weekend. During the week, The Big E sees about 72 thousand visitors and on the weekend that number climbs even higher. The peak daily attendance this year was on Saturday, September 21st when 176,544 people chose to enter the fairgrounds!

Because you will have to spend some time in traffic, it is best that you make sure that your car is working properly.
