There are three main types of seat belts.
- Single-Stage Seat Belt
- Dual-Stage Seat Belt
- Triple-Stage Seat Belt
Single-Stage Seat Belt
A single-stage seat belt is a seat belt equipped with 1 gas charge. You can identify this gas charge by the single connector or wire plug. Take a look at the image below. Notice the single wire plug on the left?
Dual-Stage Seat Belt
The dual-stage seat belt is equipped with 2 gas charges. You can identify these gas charges by the dual connector or wire plug. Take a look at the image below. Notice the two wire plugs & connectors?
Triple-Stage Seat Belt
The triple-stage seat belt mechanism has 3 plugs or connectors in total. Two of the three plugs are generally on the tensioner reel, and one plug is on the anchor pre-tensioner. Take a look at the image below. Notice the three wire plugs & connectors?
